Postdoctoral Research Associate NEITPI

About the Opportunity

Job Summary:

In the New England Inflammation and Tissue Protection Institute (NEITPI), under the direction of Dr. Michail Sitkovsky, the Post-Doctoral Student will independently perform basic or applied research of considerably higher scope and complexity in the field of immunology. The Post-Doctoral Student will conduct sophisticated experiments with CAR-T cells and polyclonal T cells against tumors by taking advantage of previous professional knowledge. Significant bench level experience with human and murine T cells during in vitro and in vivo assays is ideal, in addition to experience in immuno-oncology. Responsibilities will include the generation of data and analysis of immunological responses of novel cancer immunotherapies with clinical relevance. This research also has major implications for the treatments of infectious diseases, including COVID-19, by developing superior immunotherapeutic methods and utilizing novel humanized mouse and hamster models. Incumbent will employ methods of flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, ELISA, qRT-PCR, mammalian cell-culture, and cell-based assays to evaluate novel treatment strategies during in vivo mouse cancer immunotherapy models. Experience in the models of adoptive cell transfer as well as analysis of the tumor microenvironment on the level of cytokines and chemokines is a plus. Incumbent will also be responsible for assisting in preparation of grant proposals, publications, and planning future experimental approaches. Post-Doctoral Student will offer supervision of graduate/undergraduate research team and transfer of technical expertise to students, as well as attend meetings and present research findings.
