The School of Nursing in the Bouve College of Health Sciences at Northeastern University has developed a research-intensive/teaching/learning environment for students and faculty. The School of Nursing invites applications for an Assistant Dean of Research with a faculty appointment as an associate or full professor (with tenure evaluation on entry). This position is a full-time, benefits-eligible, academic-year position with a starting date of summer/fall, 2022 or until the position is filled.

The Assistant Dean of Research will provide leadership and support for the School of Nursing in advancing its research mission and nursing undergraduate/graduate programs. The Assistant Dean will promote the mission and strategic goals of the College and University's academic plan. Candidates should have demonstrated experience engaging in diversity initiatives that can provide visionary leadership for the research programs by facilitating interdisciplinary research and scholarship among all faculty across the college and global university system in alignment with NU's Impact Engines. This individual will work with faculty and doctoral students to provide mentorship that will facilitate new revenue streams through federal grants, training grants, scholarships, corporations, foundations, and other funding resources to enhance the Bouve College of Health Sciences research portfolio and supports the PhD in Nursing program. The Assistant Dean of Research will work in collaboration with the Bouve Associate Dean for Research & Innovation. This individual will have an active program of research and have a minimum of 5 - 10 years of experience in research design, statistics, and public health methods.

Qualifications require an earned PhD in nursing or related field by the start date of the appointment, eligibility for an unrestricted RN licensure in Massachusetts if applicable, proven teaching excellence in research and/or research design at the undergraduate and graduate level, and demonstrated excellence and commitment to supporting a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment. The candidate should possess effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with proven leadership experience in a major academic setting; experience in preparation in teaching and learning principles including curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation methods.
