Visiting Instructor/Professor of Manufacturing Technology
Job Summary: The successful candidate is expected to teach undergraduate courses included but not limited to: CAD, fluid and mechanical systems, electronics, materials science, robotics, and potentially construction management topics. The standard teaching load for this position is twelve contact hours per semester. Rank commensurate with experience and credentials.
Principle Responsibilities: This position requires a high level of technical expertise with teaching or experience in materials systems, electronics, and construction topics along with other industry software programs. Candidates should show excellence and enthusiasm in teaching a variety of lower and upper level courses for students in the Technological Studies programs. Additional duties in service of the University’s general education curriculum are encouraged. Applicants should demonstrate effectiveness in initiating research projects related to their area of expertise, and potentially advising undergraduate students both in and outside the classroom. Service on program, school, college, and university committees, and activity in their professional field is expected. Additionally, the candidate will assume responsibility for upkeep of labs and applications for the courses assigned.
Required Skills:
- High level of technical expertise and teaching and/or industrial experience in manufacturing management applications and processes, industry simulations and machine processes. Demonstrated teaching excellence in the classroom, a record of professional conference presentations and publications, and work with student and/or alumni groups is highly valued.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ph.D. or ABD in engineering technologies, manufacturing engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering, technology education, or related field. Position requires high level of technical expertise, with teaching and/or industrial experience involving robotics, manufacturing processes, ergonomics, manufacturing management. Master’s degree will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Industrial experience in manufacturing technology or engineering field.
