Woodbury University invites applications for a visiting, one year (with renewal up to three years) professor to develop and pilot curricula as well as build and execute an outreach strategy for a new Environmental Science program. Housed in the College of Liberal Arts, the B.S. in Environmental Science is initially supported by a Title V Hispanic Serving Institution Sustainability Programs grant. The faculty member will have a master’s degree or higher, or equivalent degree in environmental science or relevant discipline, at least three years’ experience in postsecondary instruction, experience in curriculum design, and professional expertise in environmental science. Central to the curriculum are interdisciplinary, problem-based lecture, seminar and lab courses, as well as field work, that challenge students to develop links between the theory and practice of environmental science and the possible manifestations of scientific discovery in real-world, social applications and contexts. We seek applicants with interdisciplinary approaches who can work collaboratively with two other Sustainability Programs majors.

The position begins in August 2022.
