The Dispatcher Coordinator Flight Instructor is responsible for the documentation of training. In so doing, schedules and coordinates all students’ flight training to include private pilot, instrument rating, commercial pilot, multi-engine rating, and flight instructor certificates. The Dispatcher Coordinator Flight Instructor also records and maintains all necessary certifications, updates, and creates training modules and tasks; and creates and updates the department training matrix. The Dispatcher Coordinator Flight Instructor ensures that all trainers and training programs are in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations part 141. The Flight Instructor is responsible to teach assigned Professional flight related courses and associated labs. The Dispatch duties are defined in TSU dispatch protocols. Essential Duties Summary
  • Responsible for the documentation of training to include recording and maintaining all necessary certifications, updating, and creating training modules and tasks and creating and updating the department training matrix.
  • Schedules and coordinates all students’ flight training to include private pilot, instrument rating, commercial pilot, multi-engine rating, and flight instructor certificates.
  • Supports department’s staffing needs and assures instructors are properly trained to perform their jobs.
  • Coordinate and propose schedule/timing for the regular maintenance needs of TSU aircraft and report to Chief Pilot weekly to ensure adherence to safety protocols and FAA mandates.
  • Provide student flight training as a CFI, CFII or MEI as needed to ensure student success and work with students in the simulator bay as needed.
  • Conduct bi-monthly inspections of simulators to ensure simulators are maintained properly and functioning within specifications.
  • Coordinate Flight Scheduling and will work with Chief Pilot to ensure students are scheduled according to their needs and flight experience.
  • Schedule student stage checks on a weekly basis with the Chief Pilot to ensure each student receives the stage check in a timely manner.
  • Dispatch aircraft and check-in aircraft to solo students in adherence with TSU’s FAA approved TCO while at his or her post at the airport.
  • Given the daily post at the airport, the Dispatcher will ensure that aircraft are secured, fueled and in position every evening for the next day’s events.
  • Works in coordination with the Chief Pilot/Director of Operation to ensure that all students are meeting FAA standards and that ground instructors are teaching the appropriately.

1.0 Hiring Range $41,509 - $55,000.00 Education
Individual must possess bachelor’s degree or higher, CFI, CFII . Required Licensing/Certification

Work Experience
Must have the minimum qualification to qualify him or her to assume the FAA designated duties under part 141 of an Assistant Chief Pilot or Check Airman. Working/Environmental Conditions
  • Prolonged standing and/or walking.
  • Handling light weight objects.
  • Using or carrying equipment.
