Job Description: Visiting Assistant Professor of Biology, 2022-23 academic year.

Siena’s Biology Department is seeking a dynamic, experienced instructor to fill a full-time teaching position. The successful candidate will work with supportive colleagues to teach mainly Cell Biology lecture, Health Studies Microbiology, General Biology lecture and labs, and Scientific Writing.  Cell Biology is a sophomore level course. General Biology I focuses on cellular biology, genetics and evolution during the fall semester, while General Biology II covers the diversity of living organisms with an emphasis on morphology, physiology, phylogeny and ecology in the spring semester. Laboratories are taught by a team of instructors and the exercises are already developed.  The total teaching load is 12 contact hours per semester. This is a one-year position.

Requirements:

A Ph.D. in the biological sciences required. Relevant teaching experience strongly preferred.  A background screening will be required.
