Position Start Date: 2022/2023 School Year
Status: Part-Time

Sidwell Friends, a co-educational PK-12 Quaker day school with campuses in Washington, DC and Bethesda, MD, seeks applicants with a passion for coaching for a part-time Head 7/8 Boys’ Soccer Coach for the 2022-2023 school year. In addition to that role, the coach hired in this role will be expected to serve as an assistant for either the Boys' JV or Varsity team. The School has outstanding athletics facilities including natural grass soccer field, an all-weather track, four full size gyms, a fitness center, two artificial turf fields, a large dance studio and six tennis courts.

Coaching responsibilities involve management of all facets of one of the teams in the 7/8 Boys Soccer Program, including, but not limited to being an active part of the tryout process and selecting the team, organizing and running practices all season (early September to early November), communicating with parents regularly, developing and implementing effective game strategies, and serving as an assistant coach for the Boys JV or Varsity team.

It is expected that the coach hired in this role will maintain a high standard of integrity in all aspects of team management, foster a culture that promotes the Quaker values of the School and academic experience of the student, and intentionally integrate school core values as the framework from which to coach and build athletic programs.

Candidates must have a passion for coaching and developing young players, a minimum of 1 year of coaching experience at the middle school, high school, college and/or in a strong club soccer setting. A bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Coaching positions at Sidwell Friends School are campus-based; therefore, this position requires coaching in person.

As a condition of employment, all employees who are employed with the school are required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and able to provide proof of such vaccination. To make application for a medical or religious exemption, please contact the human resources department.
