Professional and Continuing Education Operations

  Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Marketing Specialist, who is passionate about marketing and is excited to take on new challenges. The Marketing Specialist will be in charge of various marketing activities pertaining to the Professional and Continuing Education (PaCE) division, and will collaborate closely with University marketing to enable the PaCE division to grow, advance the mission of UNO, and empower our partners to succeed.

The Professional and Continuing Education division at UNO provides a broad range of learning opportunities that reflect the needs and interests of our businesses and community members.

  Job Description


  • Work with PaCE division staff to analyze data and trends regarding demographics, social needs, and politics, determine opportunities, threats, strengths, and weaknesses, and identify target markets
  • Collaboratively develop, implement and manage an integrated marketing plan, including annual marketing business plan and budget with revenue projections, market share, growth goals and outcomes
  • Develop digital marketing campaigns that generate leads
  • Grow qualified leads through multi-channel campaigns, and attract repeat and best customers
  • Create marketing assets/ collateral, premium content, and communication strategies to foster engagement with target audiences, brand and position PaCE thought leadership in lifelong learning
  • Coordinate the development and production of all Continuing Education publications including writing, design, events and PR activities to optimize visibility of PaCE
  • Identify the data needed to analyze effectiveness of marketing efforts and set appropriate KPIs
  • Ensure routine collection of that data, measure and analyze lead conversion metrics based on those KPIs, and provide data-driven insights for Continuing Education staff to improve results
  • Utilize registration system to track methods to monitor performance of PaCE marketing efforts
  • Coordinate use of trade show display system, providing consultation in effective design and execution
  • Coordinate the development and maintenance of mailing lists for targeted populations
  • Coordinate and monitor PaCE web pages, support website maintenance and updates, as well as social media sites
  • Maintain graphic standards and consistency of branding as set by the College
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support PaCE and University initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned



  • 4+ years of digital marketing experience with brands, organizations or established communities, with a solid portfolio of work
  • Fluency with social platforms from strategic and feature based perspectives
  • Experience in the development of successful paid and organic social media strategies
  • 2+ years of coordinating and managing social media across multiple channels, with demonstrated success in integrating social media with broader brand ecosystem
  • Knowledge of In Design, Photoshop, Illustrator, webpage design and website maintenance, and Microsoft Office programs
  • Knowledge of content management systems including Word Press, Wix and Ascend by Wix a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to present ideas and information clearly and confidently to a diverse group of stakeholders
  • Ability to jump from the creative side of marketing to strategic side, able to demonstrate why ideas are analytically sound
  • Strong team player with ability to work independently as well as engage with cross-functional teams in an effective manner
  • Self-starter with incredible attention to detail and outstanding organization skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and execute new ideas in a fast-paced environment
  • Continuous learning mindset, strong customer orientation, and outcomes driven approach
  • Ability to travel locally and regionally


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, mass communications, business or public relations from accredited higher education institution or commensurate competency-based learning experiences required
  • Certification(s) and/or proven equivalent, practical experience with marketing automation systems such as HubSpot Marketing Hub and Google Analytics preferred
  • Knowledge of enterprise systems, and CRM preferred
