Adjunct Faculty in Sociology

Job Summary

The department of sociology is seeking qualified adjunct(s) for Introduction to Sociology (M/W, 2:50-4:30) and Social Problems (online asynchronous) for the Fall of 2022.

Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until suitable candidates are identified.

Essential Functions

• Successful candidates will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching.
• Responsibilities for this adjunct faculty position include course preparation, teaching, grading and being available to students who have questions or require extra help.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Sociology, Social Work, or a related field.
• A keen interest in engaging students and fostering their learning.

Preferred Qualifications

• PhD preferred

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

Employee is subject to indoor work, protected from weather conditions. Work is sedentary in nature and involves exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently/constantly in order to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move object.
