Saint Joseph's University | Vice President for Human Resources
Philadelphia, PA

Saint Joseph's University seeks an experienced, innovative, and collaborative leader for the position of Vice President for Human Resources (VPHR). Reporting to the Vice President for Finance and Administration and Treasurer, the VPHR is responsible for the development and implementation of human resource policies and practices that are forward-looking, creative, equitable and inclusive, and will lead the University in attracting and retaining a high-performing, diverse, and productive work force in support of its mission, its Jesuit, Catholic tradition, and its long-term strategic goals.

The VPHR will join SJU at an exciting time following the just-completed merger with the University of the Sciences, which increased the curricular, physical, and staffing footprint of the University. The VPHR will have the unique opportunity to partner with senior leadership and key stakeholders to ensure the smooth and thoughtful onboarding of approximately 500 new faculty and staff into one cohesive, unified, and vibrant Saint Joseph's University community. The successful candidate will implement a vision for accessible and efficient human resources services for both campuses. Further, following the initial launch of Workday human resources and payroll modules, the VPHR will lead and support the talented HR team throughout the continued development of this dynamic human resources system, with future applicant tracking module rollout and other enhancements.

Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will be a seasoned and innovative human resources professional with at least ten years of experience and a record of increasingly responsible leadership positions in human resources and its functions. The next VPHR will have a proven record of success and knowledge of current human resource best practices in organizational development, employee relations, talent management, change management, and assessment. The candidate should be an experienced leader of people with an ability to attract, mentor, and retain staff and to elicit a high-quality service orientation from a team. A Bachelor's degree is required; a Master's degree preferred.
