Job Summary

The Project Manager/Interior Designer manages all phases of design and construction projects across the University campuses, from project inception through completion. Working under the direction of the Director of Space Planning, the Project Manager/Interior Designer manages multiple projects simultaneously. This includes collaborating with end users, design teams, vendors and contractors, and actively overseeing and managing project schedule, scope, budget, and quality.

Essential Functions
  • Manage specific efforts for both large complex interior construction projects and small projects including coordination with DUIT, Security, AV, furniture, equipment, etc.
  • Independently manage interior construction projects and/or departmental moves that involve end users and may involve Drexel Facilities team members.
  • Coordinate purchase of services, equipment and furnishings through the Smart Source system.
  • Attend, participate and document end user meetings, with guidance from senior staff.
  • Prepare Request for Proposals and assist in bid reviews, evaluation and award. Assist with initiating contracts and shepherding contracts through internal approval with OGC and Risk Management.
  • Manage project costs within set budgetary constraints
  • Performs quality control on projects to maintain standards expected/adherence to programmatic requirements and Drexel standards
  • Assist and support senior interior design personnel with projects on all campuses
  • Use AutoCAD, Excel and Adobe skills as required to support projects and senior staff.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or Related Field or Equivalent
  • 3 years of relevant experience
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Adobe, Bluebeam and Microsoft Office.
