Class Description

The purpose of this class is to assist the ADiM Department Coordinator in the maintenance of studio spaces, and with the preparation of materials for courses.

Minimum Requirements

  1. A.F.A. of A.A. in Art or related degree (Art History, Graphic Design, Arts Administration)
  2. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record containing five or less moving violation points on the driving record and the ability to travel between the Catonsville, Dundalk and Essex campuses.
  3. The ability to lift 50 pounds from floor to chest height.
  4. Daytime availability with flexible hours


Class Specific Essential Duties

  1. Three-dimensional studio preparation and maintenance
    1. General cleaning of both sculpture and ceramics’ studio following established safety protocols
    2. Wood construction of pedestals, shelves
    3. Cutting of materials (i.e. Masonite) used in studio classes
    4. Maintenance of hand tools
    5. Assist with the resurfacing of studio work tables
    6. Mixing of clay-bodies from dry ingredients
    7. Glaze mixing and reconstitution
    8. Assist in kiln firing
    9. Assist with inventory control of consumable materials
  • Two-dimensional studio preparation and maintenance
  1. Assist with inventory control of consumable materials
  2. Assist with cleaning of easels and drawing tables


3. Assist with installation of gallery exhibitions as needed. This includes:

  1. Installation and de-installation of mobile wall units
  2. Installation of artwork, both 2 dimensional, 3 dimensional, and digital
  3. Gallery space preparation

  • Roth 403(b) is a savings feature that is available when you open a 403(b) account. The Roth 403(b) savings feature allows employees to contribute after-tax dollars and then withdraw tax-free dollars from their account upon retirement. The Roth 403(b) savings feature is only offered by the following vendors: TIAA-CREF and VOYA Financial Advisors, Inc. Adjunct Faculty, Part Time Associates and Full Time employees are eligible to save for retirement using the Roth 403(b) savings feature. Employees may contribute traditional pre-tax 403(b) dollars and Roth 403(b) post-tax dollars simultaneously. The savings limits are combined for the Traditional 403(b) and the Roth 403(b) contributions.
  • Deferred Compensation Plan — 457(b) offered through VOYA Financial Advisors, Inc. The 457(b) salary reduction authorization form is needed. The form is available on SharePoint Forms/Human Resources Forms.
Parking
Free. Must obtain a parking permit from the Department of Public Safety to use on all campuses.
