Northwood University seeks a dynamic individual with strong interpersonal skills to lead key University learning initiatives as the Curriculum Architect. The Curriculum Architect will manage the development, design, and delivery of University non-credit course offerings and assist the Center for Excellence in other course and curriculum projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop courses in collaboration with subject matter experts for credit, non-credit, corporate training, badging, certifications and other curriculum initiatives.
  • Provide strategic direction for and management of the expansion of University non-credit programming.
  • Ensure alignment of learning objectives with course objectives and program outcomes across the curriculum.
  • Ensure application of universal design across modalities and course types for development of engaging, meaningful experiences for learners.
  • Make recommendations for assessments and activities to promote instructional excellence.
  • Collaborate with faculty, subject matter experts, and Center for Excellence staff on recommendations for incorporation of course resources and design to engage diverse learners.
  • Collaborate to develop evaluation strategies and recommendations
  • Manage course design projects as assigned and complete updates of designed courses to maintain currency and relevancy.
  • Assist in development and delivery of faculty development sessions and training.
  • Support the Center for Excellence in providing faculty support across the University.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Required:
  • A minimum of a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction or related field
  • Advanced knowledge of instructional design, learning theories, and instructional technologies
  • Experience in for-credit course, badging, and corporate training development
  • A minimum of five years of experience of developing quality online, hybrid, and/or face-to-face courses.
  • A minimum of three years of experience using Blackboard
  • Minimum of five years of classroom instruction or corporate training delivery
  • Advanced interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Comprehensive technical knowledge and experience of a variety of educational technologies
Preferred:
  • Certification in Quality Matters (QM) and/or Online Learning (Sloan C) Consortium
  • Experience developing certifications and certificate programs
