Report Writer & Programmer Analyst


Northwood University seeks a Report Writer & Programmer Analyst, as part of the Systems and Programming Team, will be responsible to identify, consult, develop, maintain, and implement procedures and programs to solve business problems and needs for Northwood University’s Student Information System. The scope of the work is broad and requires excellent technical and analytical ability, with particular emphasis on data extraction and report/dashboard generation. This position reports to the Associate Director of Systems & Programming and is eligible for remote work.

Key Responsibilities :

· Maintains and modifies existing applications, programs, dashboards, and reports

· Develop reports and visualization of information for Northwood University data repository using available tools such as Power BI

· Reviews data and identifies quality issues

· Prepares programs requiring a wide a variety and extensive number of internal processing actions.

· Participates in certain aspects of user consulting, systems analysis, general systems design, and detail systems design for a specific University function.

· Learns organization and roles in the enterprise to the extent required to perform system solutions

· Recognizes and identifies potential areas where existing policies and procedures require change, or where new ones need to be developed, especially regarding future business expansion.

· Fulfills departmental requirements in terms of providing administrative notification during periods of illness, vacation, or education.

· Create appropriate and insightful tables, graphics, and summaries

· Communicate results clearly in statistical reports

· Position is globally focused and crosses all sections of the Student Information Systems


Qualifications
:

· Experience with higher education systems such as Ellucian Colleague (student, financial aid, finance, human resources)

· Excellent Microsoft Power BI, Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook skills

· Familiarity with Unix and SQL operating system. Languages preferred are SQL, XHTML, HTML, JavaScript.

· Ability to do programming debugging, data analysis and system analysis.

· Excellent written and oral communication skills.

· Excellent interpersonal relation skills
