The successful candidate will teach online, distance, and
face-to-face courses in Elementary Education at the undergraduate
and graduate level across all programs in the Department of
Educator Preparation. The candidate is expected to have integrate
culturally responsive and sustaining pedagogy into courses and
provide expertise regarding research-based practice with culturally
responsive education to improve program curriculum, professional
development, and experiential learning experiences for education
students and P-12 school partners. The candidate is expected to
engage in scholarly activities such as conducting research,
publishing manuscripts, attaining extramural grant funds, and
developing courses. Other duties include, but are not limited to,
working collaboratively with colleagues, advising students,
assisting in candidate research, supervising candidates in P-12
public school field experiences, holding appropriate office hours,
rendering service to the department, College of Education, the
University, the Community- at-large, and professional
organizations. Candidate is expected to maintain a current North
Carolina teaching license in elementary education and remain
current in content, pedagogical practices, standards, and
educational theory.
