Scope of Job:
The Department of Organization & School Leadership at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) has the need to hire one non-tenure track, one-year appointment lecturer to teach in its Master's and principal certification programs beginning in the Fall 2022 semester. Responsibilities include: delivering quality instruction in the program; advising students; and participating in scholarship activities serving the college, university, or local community as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
The qualifications to be considered as a non-tenure track, one-year appointment lecturer are
  1. Have an earned doctorate in School Administration or School Leadership from an Accredited University.
  2. Have a valid Texas Principal or Mid-Management Certificate.
  3. Have experience as a school leader (principal and/or central office level).
  4. Supervise practicum/internship courses and other field experiences.
  5. Conduct review sessions for the state of Texas certification Examination.
  6. Teach online classes and use technology to support teaching and learning.

Additional Information:
UTRGV is a distributed institution. As such and as assigned, the position may require presence at multiple locations throughout the Rio Grande Valley. Work is performed primarily in a general office environment. This position is security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of the Texas Education Code §51.215. The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days inlength.
