Position Summary:
Monmouth University is seeking applications for an Interim Dean of the School of Education. The anticipated start date for this position is August 1, 2022 and it will conclude on June 30, 2023. Applications received by July 22, 2022 will receive fullest consideration.

The Interim Dean provides overall leadership for the school and reports directly to the Provost and Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs. The ideal candidate will possess a doctoral degree in education or related field, have strong knowledge and experience of K-12 school partnerships, and experience in college teaching accreditation processes. This person needs to maintain a progressive educational vision based on international, national, and local trends and standards and lead the school with implementation of the University's Strategic Plan.

The School of Education offers forty-two undergraduate and twenty-two graduate degree, certificate, and endorsement programs including teacher preparation, literacy instruction, school leadership, and school counseling and college counseling, special education and speech-language pathology.

The School is fully accredited by NCATE; school counseling and college counseling programs are fully accredited by CACREP; and the speech-language pathology program has accreditation candidacy by ASHA.

Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills

Required Years of Experience: 3

Other Requirements:
Tenured at faculty rank (e.g., associate or full professor), and have three years of experience at the administrative level (e.g., dean, associate dean, department chair, director).

Doctoral degree in Education or related field. Strong knowledge of K-12 school partnerships theory and practice. Experience in college teaching, working in School Partnerships, Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP)/National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) accreditation processes, state certification rules, regulations, and codes.

Able to maintain a progressive educational vision based on international, national and local trends and standards. Experience working collaboratively with a diverse population of faculty, students, and administrators. Record of academic accomplishments, including effective teaching, scholarly activity, and service.



Preferred Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of educational programs and professional standards. Solid understanding of faculty professional development, research, and experience in providing such programs to community educators. Experience in Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) and American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) accreditation processes.
