SUNY Delhi is seeking a highly energetic, engaging, self-motivated, and dynamic self-starter to join the Admissions staff as a Regional Admissions Recruiter.

The Regional Admissions Recruiter will report directly to the Director of Undergraduate Admissions and serve on the professional staff of a campus admissions office, representing SUNY Delhi to prospective students. This person will assist with applications and will provide detailed information to prospective students on campus curriculum, academic programs, residence hall programs, and financial assistance.  The incumbent will learn the tasks required and become familiar with the campus programs and admissions environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage a recruitment territory in NYC to include: annual visits to high schools, attending college fairs, hosting recruitment events (virtual and in-person), communication/outreach, and progress reports. Self-Motivation is imperative to the success of this position.
  • Assist with the review, tracking, completing, and yielding applications and in-turn, enrolling students. Expectations include a significant amount of outreach electronically and by phone. 
  • Work with the Admissions Leadership team on outreach and engagement of prospective new students throughout the enrollment cycle. 
  • Actively participate in staff meetings.
  • Support all admissions yield events such as:  Open House, Accepted Student Days, New Student Orientation, and Welcome Weekend both within the NYC region and on-campus
  • Maintain positive and productive working relationships with the staff in the following areas:  Offices of Student life, Residential Life,  Academic Affairs, Provost, Registrar, and Student Financial Services by maintaining a strong working knowledge of student policies and procedures within each of these departments.  Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with high school counselors and other admissions professionals is vital.
  • Maintain daily communication with the Admissions Office; attend trainings and workshops when requested.
  • Provide university service through committee and workgroup participation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree from an accredited institution of higher education
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evening and weekends
  • Must reside in one of the following counties: Bronx, Brooklyn, New York (Manhattan), Queens, Richmond (Staten Island)
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to present in-person and virtually
  • Proficient with technology
  • Experience working with a diverse population, promoting an inclusive environment
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while collaborating with a team of admissions professionals

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree from an accredited institution of higher education
  • Previous experience in retrieving, interpreting and utilizing data
  • Proficiency in conversational Spanish
  • Experience using a Student Information System such as Banner, PeopleSoft, Datatel, etc.
