Salve Regina University is embarking on an extraordinary period in its distinguished history, marked by a 75th anniversary celebration and a transformational comprehensive fundraising campaign. To leverage these opportunities, the University seeks an experienced professional to become an integral member of the University Advancement team. This key role will focus on engaging corporate partners to advance the institution's priorities, rooted in a commitment to academic excellence, compassion leadership and a Mercy mission. Working as part of a dedicated team, the Corporate Giving Officer will benefit from a rich 45-year history of corporate support and leadership volunteerism.

BASIC FUNCTION

Working as part of a frontline Major Gifts team, within a dynamic Advancement structure, the Corporate Giving Officer (CGO) will be dedicated to securing vital support from corporate and corporate foundation donors. Supported by leadership and experienced professional colleagues, the CGO will build on the substantial base of support garnered through 45 years of strategic corporate fundraising. The success of the CGO will have a significant impact on the University's funding priorities which depend on meaningful and sustained relationships with the business community.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
  • Foster a collaborative and empowering work environment rooted in Salve Regina University's Mercy values: demonstrate empathic leadership through the positive engagement of University Advancement team members and the broader Salve community.
  • Manage a portfolio of 150 corporate and foundation prospects and donors. Develop measurable objectives and reach mutually agreed-upon targets for outreach and major gifts.
  • Manage relationships with volunteer leadership committed to corporate engagement and coordinate with university leadership engaging with corporate partners.
  • In support of university priorities, develop a menu of funding opportunities and sponsorships specifically designed to be compelling to corporate donors.
  • Collaborate with academic departments to cultivate aligned donors and generate financial resources for projects and programs.
  • Coordinate with university offices charged with developing relationships with corporate partners to ensure consistent messaging and compatible requests and proposals.
  • Maintain a schedule of corporate request submission deadlines.
  • Working with the Director of Communications and Stewardship, ensure that donors receive appropriate follow-up and stewardship materials.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as needed.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

As assigned by the AVP Development & Planned Giving.

LICENSES, TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT:

Valid driver's license required.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
  • The incumbent is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
  • Requires occasional nights and/or weekend work.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree is required; Master's preferred.
  • At least three years transferable professional experience; experience working with leadership volunteers preferred.
  • Must be a team player who works well in a group setting and is a creative problem solver.
  • Must be a strategic thinker with the ability to fully execute a plan.
  • Ability to work independently to solve problems.
  • Must have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to exercise discretion and good judgment when dealing with confidential and sensitive material.
  • Ability and willingness for intermittent travel as needed to participate regularly in events and activities.
  • Possess a strong work ethic supported by follow-through, and a commitment to Salve Regina's mission and values.
  • Must have strong attention to detail.
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), experience with Raiser Edge NXT would be helpful.
