The Faculty of Music at Wilfrid Laurier University, Waterloo campus is seeking a conductor for the Wilfrid Laurier University Wind Orchestra, who is also able to teach Introductory Conducting and an additional course in an area of the candidate’s expertise. Additional duties include coordinating the Wind, Brass and Percussion area, providing leadership to a diverse team of contract instructors, sitting on juries and auditions, participating in recruitment initiatives, and engaging generally in the administrative life of the Faculty. While all qualified candidates will be carefully considered, candidates with additional expertise in Music Education, Musicology, Ethnomusicology, Popular Music, Jazz or Instrumental instruction are especially encouraged to apply. The candidate will work with the coordinator of Laurier’s Ensembles program to support the school’s interest in diversity, inclusion, and innovation and to present ensemble performances at a high artistic level.
