Located in sunny Miami, Florida, St. Thomas University is a private, non-profit university that offers 39 undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate degrees at its picturesque 144-acre campus and through distance learning. Its academic offerings include one of the oldest (and most highly ranked) undergraduate programs in Sports Administration in the country. STU has been ranked #1 by U.S. News & World Report in Social Mobility for regional universities in the South, which means it takes students from the lowest financial strata and catapults them to much higher financial strata in only ten years. St. Thomas University is the only Catholic Archdiocesan-sponsored university in Florida, and one of the only eight Archdiocesan universities nationwide.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Dean should be an individual with a proven record of accomplishment in partnership development, building strong academic programs, recruiting, training, and evaluating excellent faculty, building excellence in academic operations, and partnership development. Under direction of the Provost of the University, the Dean oversees Biscayne College Programs with the vision of designing effective marketing and enrollment management strategy is key. STU currently has undergraduate, graduate and doctoral online programs and on the main campus. The Dean will direct and be responsible for recruitment and enrollment goals, ensure that the marketing of graduate and adult programs are competitive. The Dean will oversee and direct all communications goals for new and returning students. STU has a unique advantage of offering programs internationally particularly in the Caribbean, Central and South America.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Developing and evaluating College curricula
  • Launching innovative programs in liberal arts, education, and related fields
  • Developing partnerships with local and regional entities in conjunction with the community at large
  • Fundraising and development efforts
  • Provide faculty selection and evaluation
  • Collaborate with the Provost to establish academic and curricular policy of the division and lead the design and implementation of a strategic plan for Biscayne College programs
  • Monitor, gather, analyze and report data regularly to the Provost/Chief Academic Officer
  • Collaborate with the Provost to grow a portfolio of programs that will insure enrollment growth
  • Hire, train and evaluate the faculty in the division
  • Assist in the data collection and goals for SACS
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Hold a terminal degree in one of the programmatic fields in Biscayne College
  • Established record of accomplishment in academic excellence
  • Prior record of accomplishment in research and partnership development is preferred
  • Strong background in building and revising academic programs.
  • Leadership experience.
  • Ability to create a strong sense of advocacy on behalf of the University.
  • A record of accomplishment working with a diverse group of faculty, staff, students and administrators
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with leading and oversight of all aspects program operations
Tuition Benefit

After 1 year of continuous full‐time service, employees are eligible to enroll in STU’s bachelor and master courses, tuition‐free. The program will cover a maximum timeframe of 125% of credit hours attempted toward the degree program. Employees may enroll in STU’s doctoral program, with a 40% tuition discount, under the same conditions.
