Position Summary and Responsibilities
Minot State University invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Professional Communication who will begin in August 2022. The applicant should be able to contribute to areas of study that might include, but are not limited to, public relations, social media, crisis communication, community relations, or media law.

The teaching load for this position is 12 credit hours per semester (fall and spring). The successful candidate must be able to teach a variety of undergraduate communication courses and mentor advisees and provide guidance on their academic pursuits, internships, capstone projects, and other endeavors. In addition, the candidate will maintain an active program of scholarly activity and demonstrate a commitment to service within the department, university, community, and field.

The candidate will have access to a newly launched research lab, which can be used to conduct a wide variety of research, as well as class exercises and simulations.  

Qualifications
Applicants must hold a PhD degree or be pursuing a PhD in communication, public relations, or a closely related field. Priority will be given to applicants with evidence of (1) teaching experience, (2) a strong track record of service, and (3) an active program of research.

Compensation
Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
