Job Description

Description:

This position oversees facility operations of the Recreational Sports Department (4 facilities) including facility scheduling, event set-up and ensuring event success. Coordinating major maintenance and custodial services with appropriate entities and procuring facility equipment. Supervision and professional development of three professional staff members.

Responsibilities:
  • Administration and operation for the Dugan Wellness Center, Tennis Center, Momentum facilities and Aquatics Center. Ensure that fiscal responsibility, risk management, operations policies, personnel training, payroll, mentoring and development of students and professional staff are properly addressed and implemented for these areas.
  • Oversee events from reservation to set up and success.
  • Oversee Risk Management practices for facilities and equipment.
  • Work closely with Facility Tech to ensure all maintenance is done in an appropriate, safe, and timely manner. Follow up on all work orders for buildings.
  • Work closely with Aquatics director and Outdoor Coordinator to ensure delivery of a variety of quality programs throughout the year. This includes risk management, budgets, purchasing, and planning.
  • Promote Staff development and assist them in successfully running their areas. Assist and answer core questions.
  • Act as area Director as needed.
  • Knowledgeable of the Fusion Software & EMS
  • Develop and administer budget of assigned areas and purchase equipment as necessary.
  • Delivering assessment reporting to align with department's vision and mission
  • Serve on committees as assigned.
  • Work to develop sustainable partnerships.
  • Write, evaluate, implement, support, and disseminate policies and procedures.
  • Assist in oversight, development, and risk management practices of momentum complex.
  • Write and assist in Weave process & annual reports.
  • Ability and interest in serving as a mentor for students and new professionals by engaging and contributing to a vibrant life on campus.
  • Demonstrate a student-centered philosophy, mindful of student well-being and success.
  • Perform other duties as needed and assigned by Supervisor or university administration.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Student Affairs or related field.
  • Eight (8) years' experience in Student Affairs environment.
  • Experience in management of programs including supervision of students and/or staff.
  • Strong knowledge of assessment
  • Ability to apply an organization's performance management system, practices, and tools to develop and improve individual, team, and organizational performance.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of diversity, equity, and inclusion approaches and their connections to well-being.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to be able to relate to students and to work in collaboration with various representatives from university departments and the community, multitask and develop marketing strategies.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), and other computer programs.
  • Demonstrated experience and success in working with diverse student populations in culturally diverse settings and tailoring programs for diverse populations.
  • Ability to work weekends and evenings.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification in American Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid.
  • Masters in Recreation /Student Affairs related areas preferred.
  • Five or more years of full-time experience managing campus recreation facilities.
  • Three or more years of experience supervising full-time professional.
  • Extensive knowledge of and the ability to apply policies and practices for developing, planning, and administering a budget.
  • Extensive knowledge of and ability to ensure safe practices in daily operations, as well as effective maintenance and repair services for facilities.
  • Experience working with complex budgets.
  • Procurement and oversight (contract management) of contracted Events and services.
  • Implementation of deferred maintenance reduction strategies for all facilities.
  • American Red Cross Adult & Pediatric First Aid, CPR and AED certification.
  • CPO or AFO Certified.
  • Experience working with InnoSoft Fusion, Connect 2, EMS and When to Work
  • Extensive experience in facility management and assessment.


Salary:
  • $56,650.00 /Annual
