Job Description:

The Application Support Specialist is a member of the HRIS team, whose primary responsibilities are to provide application support, and documentation, complete application configurations, complete projects, and deliver training to the College of the Holy Cross workforce. It requires both business skills, and HR and technical IT aptitude and knowledge. This position requires a commitment to system operation efficiency, the ability to multitask and prioritize work, a desire to drive process improvement, and the use of data to identify results. The incumbent in this position must also have a strong technical background and aptitude, a customer service mindset, and excellent communications skills.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage, administer, and support all applications within the HRIS suite of solutions
  • Work in conjunction with end-users and other members of the organization to gain an understanding of requirements and desired functionality to define system requirements
  • Document and maintain application configurations, processes, and program modifications
  • Document and maintain end-user training materials in alignment with system procedures and guidelines
  • Develop and deliver ad hoc query & report requests
  • Provide end-user support for HRIS-related inquiries
  • Assist with systems integrations
  • Deliver training to end-users
  • Participate in testing of application configuration changes, upgrades, and various other projects



Requirements:

Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of experience in working with/supporting software/applications, technical and information systems
  • Degree in Software/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Human Resources, Business, or related field.
  • Skills in critical thinking, communication, listening, and customer service
  • Proficiency in determining the causes of application errors and repairing them

Core Competencies:
  • Strong technical and application aptitude
  • Familiarity with database and reporting concepts and structures
  • Great oral and written communication skills with the ability to interface with staff at all levels of an organization
  • Demonstrate ability to troubleshoot integrated applications to determine the root cause of issues
  • Experience working as member of team in a collaborative environment
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task, and prioritize
  • Desire to become SME for assigned applications, to create and provide training and documentation when needed
  • Ability to work in a professional and confidential capacity
  • Advanced level user skills with MS Office Suite of applications
  • Experience in HR business systems, specifically designing, installing, and supporting
  • Aptitude to informally train end users

Additional Information:

This is a full-time, exempt-level level position with an annual salary ranging from $62,000 - $70,000. The College is committed to providing competitive market pay for its employees. The College also offers a competitive benefits package for full-time staff, including:
