Normally scheduled Monday through Friday; however, may be required to work other shifts to include evenings and/or weekends. Schedule subject to change based upon department needs.

The HR Generalist is responsible for the delivery of a broad range of HR support and performs a variety of Human Resources functions.

Typical Essential Duties
• Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
• Professionally engage in cross-functional HR projects, and new initiatives.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with little supervision.
• Assist with new hire onboarding questions (salary, benefits, pay dates, etc.)
• Support the area of employee benefits – ability and understanding of group insurance plans, retirement ( PSRS / PEERS and 403b), tuition etc.
• Assist with employee leave of absences, FMLA, and the accommodation process under the ADA
• Manage and Maintain HR Newsletter
• Run HR related reports/queries as needed or requested from external departments
• Complete HR Surveys
• Supports all functional areas of human resources including, but not limited to, recruitment and employment, personnel records, employee and/or labor relations, benefits administration, training, AA/ EEO, labor relations, safety, FMLA administration, investigations and special projects. Work as an integral member of the HR team on initiatives to insure data integrity.
• Support the area of Employee Relations with verbal warnings, written warnings, counseling’s, attendance issues and concerns, and triage of employee complaints.
• Conduct investigations of employee/supervisor issues.
• Assists with the development and implementation of human resources policies and procedures through employee booklets, communications, and/or meetings.
• Responsive; excel at problem solving, and initiate solutions.

Knowledge
• Knowledge of computers and related software applications;
• Knowledge of customer service principles;
• Knowledge of human resources principles and practices in assigned area of responsibility;
• Knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws, rules, regulations, codes, and/or statutes;
• Knowledge of mathematical principles;
• Knowledge of analytical methods;

• Skilled in providing customer service;
• Skilled in interpreting and applying applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures;

• Skilled in gathering, interpreting, and presenting data in clear and concise formats;
• Skilled in utilizing communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, and others sufficient to exchange or convey information.
