National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) is an international nonprofit organization that teaches wilderness-based skills. The mission and impact of NOLS reaches far and wide, with locations worldwide and operations in all 50 states. NOLS enrolls more than 28,000 students and employs over 1,000 full-time and part-time staff, with an annual budget of approximately $40 million in a typical year. NOLS boasts more than 360,000 active alumni.

Reporting directly to the NOLS President and working together in close partnership with NOLS Program leadership, the Chief of Program Strategy will drive the school’s long-term, overarching growth strategy. This new position is an exceptional opportunity for a person with a passion for and experience in designing and managing product-centric organizations, managing change successfully, and taking products/services from conception to launch. The Chief of Program Strategy will be ultimately responsible for the overarching P&L and growth targets for NOLS’s portfolio of programs, their mission alignment, and their future success. The ideal candidate cares deeply about students, education, the environment, and intentional learning experiences, and has demonstrated experience building inclusive teams.

At that point, the position will be eligible for long-term hybrid office and remote work options and opportunities for an alternative, non-traditional work schedule. Location within a day’s drive of Lander will make work coordination much easier but is not required.
