Assistant Professor of Computer Science Department of Computer Science

 

 

 

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a nine-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Computer Science faculty position in the Department of Computer Science beginning January 2023.

 

 

 

Responsibilities Include:

 

  • Teaching expectations include teaching 2 courses per term (fall/spring) in computer science at the graduate and undergraduate levels for the first 2 years. (This is a 40% teaching, 50% research, and 10% service workload model.) Teaching expectations will then increase to 3 courses per term unless substantial external grants have been acquired. (This is a 60% teaching, 30% research, and 10% service workload model.) Service to the Department, College, University, and professional community is expected. Scholarship/Research expectations include pursuing and receiving external grants, creating journal articles and peer reviewed papers based upon the workload model. Program development expectations. Dissertation/thesis supervision. Working with a diverse community.

An earned Doctorate, or the foreign equivalent, in Computer Science or related field is required. Preferred Qualifications Include

 

  • Prior teaching and online teaching a plus Evidence of teaching and working with a culturally and an ethnically diverse community Evidence of scholarship activities Areas of expertise needed are machine learning, data visualization, cyber security, and AI Experience teaching online or hybrid courses
