Job Description:
The MDC Foundation Accounting Manager is responsible for preparing and reviewing accounting entries, reconciliation of accounts, approving payables and receivables, reviewing and reconciling all banking entries and reconciliation. The position functions as the Blackbaud Financial Edge system administrator for configuration; develops and maintains finance financial reporting and supports financial analysis for Donor accounts across the area and external departments to ensure financial compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and audit requirements. This is a Professional Exempt Contractual (PEC) position for which an annual contract reflecting the base salary within the fiscal year (July 1st to June 30th) will be issued after ratification by Miami Dade College’s District Board of Trustees. 

Duties & Responsibilities:
•Ensures the accuracy of the accounting and reporting of individual transactions at the donor account level
•Manages the configuration of the finance system for Chart of Accounts, Business Rules, and other configuration requirements
•Ensures all donor accounts reflect the correct attributes based on type, donor intent and are reconciled across for both systems (Financial Edge and Raiser’s Edge)
•Serves as a project lead for system integration to evaluate and implement improvements as needed for the structure of financial database and other system related projects
•Analyzes financial data and prepares all general ledger entries and reconciliations related to the investment portfolio and other bank and investment accounts
•Monitors budgets, spending policy compliance and prepares appropriate reports as needed 
•Reconciles deposits between Raiser’s Edge and Financial Edge to ensure all cash transactions are posted appropriately
•Reconciles donor accounts between Raiser’s Edge and Financial Edge to ensure consistency and makes accounts in active as needed
•Reviews and prepares the monthly investment allocations across donor accounts
•Performs the monthly closing process for accounts payable
•Assists with annual financial closing and subsequent audit and tax filing by preparing supporting tax schedules for College auditors
•Reviews periodically a limited number of donor accounts disbursement to ensure compliance
•Compiles and analyzes data; provides guidance, consultation and recommendations regarding donor account requirements to donors and College departments 

Minimum Requirements: 
•Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field with three (3) years of related experience; or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field with seven (7) years of related experience 
•All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
•Knowledge and understanding of college organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures 
•Knowledge of governmental fund accounting, structured office procedures and customer service objectives
•Knowledge and understanding of the Foundation's organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures
•Highly motivated, self-starter with strong organizational skills and ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly while meeting deadline
•Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions for reporting purposes
•Advanced knowledge of Microsoft office software and computer programs related to area of responsibility
