    Job Summary

    The Web Accessibility Coordinator is responsible for the Web Accessibility Evaluation process against CSU/ CSUSB baseline standards for web accessibility, and documents the results using the approved CSU tool. The incumbent works with the campus community and provides necessary information to overcome compliance issues. Analyze, interpret, and apply research to web accessibility best practices. Assists in the development of web related standards, policies, and documentation.

    The incumbent will work with the larger CSUSB community on best practices and develop documentation on accessibility techniques. Duties will also include direct support to Accessible Technology Services Coordinator in support of larger Accessible Technology Initiative (ATI) goals by maintaining documentation and assisting the Accessible Technology Services Coordinator to compile ATI annual report to the CSU Chancellor's Office.

    Participation in various subcommittees and working groups, including systemwide community of practice conference calls, will be required. The incumbent will work collaboratively with other Accessible Technology Services staff.

    Candidates should have a thorough working knowledge of digital content accessibility best practices and a familiarity with assistive technologies. Additionally, the incumbent shall have a working knowledge of disability laws and accessibility guidelines including the ADA, Section 508, EO 111, and UDL principles and best practices.

    Employment Status: Full time, Exempt, Probationary with the possibility of converting to permanent.
    First Review Deadline: This position will remain open until filled. Applicants will be reviewed beginning April 1, 2022.

    Work Schedule
  • Generally, Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Some weekends and evenings may be required.

Key Qualification
  • Working knowledge and skills in technical information systems and application program packages is a prerequisite.
  • Working knowledge of common software application packages, equipment platforms, reference database systems and sources, and training methods and a basic understanding of networks, data communication, and multimedia systems.

Education and Experience
  • The equivalent to Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in computer science, information systems or in a closely related field or similar certified coursework in applicable fields of study.
  • Minimum of two years of directly related experience to the duties or responsibilities specified.

Preferred Requirements
  • Knowledge of various state and federal legislation that pertain to accessibility.
  • Familiarity with assistive technologies.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with constituents with diverse priorities.
  • Excellent time management, prioritization, and follow-up skills to ensure workflow progression within stated deadlines.

Salary

Anticipated Hiring Range: $52,464 - $76,044 per year

Classification Range: $52,464 - $129,504 per year
