Job Description:
The Radiologic Science department at Weber State University seeks applications for an Assistant Professor position. Individual will be responsible for didactic instruction and clinical evaluation of students in Radiography and/or modalities which meet applicant's professional credentials, educational backgrounds and clinical expertise. Primary teaching responsibility: Weber Campus, Provo campus and Outreach sites with Primary responsibilities for teaching labs and clinical courses. There will be some teaching responsibilities off-campus and distance learning program, Bachelor program and potentially graduate course with the right academic background. Travel to clinical/teaching sites will be required. Teaching afternoons and evenings will be required. Will develop monitor and manage a variety of student success programs for the School of Radiologic Sciences.

Job Duties:
Selected individual will participate in the development and evaluation of curriculum and other instructional materials. Maintain effective working relationships with personnel in affiliated clinical facilities and assist in the liaison and coordination between several affiliates and the University. Participate in Department, College and University committees and other related faculty duties and student activities; maintain office hours; collect and evaluate student data for program assessment activities.

Required Qualifications:
  • An earned Master’s degree in Radiologic Sciences is required.
  • Current ARRT Certification in Radiography is required.
  • A doctoral degree will be required for continued employment. Significant progress must be made toward a Doctoral degree by the third year tenure review with the Doctoral degree completed by the sixth tenure review.
  • Pervious teaching experience and experience with clinical evaluation of students.
  • Current Radiography clinical experience.
  • Maintenance of an active and valid ARRT registration in Radiography and/or mulit-credentialing in other imaging and Radiation Therapy areas.
  • Basic Computer skills



Preferred Qualifications:
  • Recent clinical experience in Radiography and in other modalities.
  • Ability to use a variety of teach teaching methods to encourage students to become independent learners with higher-order problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Canvas online education platform.
  • A demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • A demonstrated sensitivity to students with diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds and students with disabilities.
  • Commitment to continued professional development.
  • Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with students, colleagues and others.
  • Earned Doctoral degree.
  • Experience with volume rendering, segmentation and/or advance medical imaging.
  • Demonstrated professional involvement with ASRT, USRT and/or other profession organization.
  • Patient care and assessment skill in both specialty and community based settings.
  • Multi credentialed is preferred.
  • Experienced in teaching in a variety of nontraditional delivery systems.
  • Team play with Administration, Faculty, Staff and Students in all programs.
