Job Summary
The Network Technician will perform the following major responsibilities:
  1. Installs, configures, maintains, replaces, and monitors routine network cabling, hardware, and system security components
  2. Analyzes and troubleshoots routine network cabling, hardware issues, user requests, and reports utilizing established diagnostic resources under direct supervision
  3. Writes, reviews, and updates network installation documentation to meet specific operational requests
  4. Schedules logistics and secures resources for work order responses and specified institutional networking projects and updates to ensure adherence to timelines and quality expectations
  5. Communicates and coordinates with customers on planned installation or emergency recovery activities
  6. Provides technical support for network fiber circuits
  7. Reports and documents network fiber, usage, and/or signal conduit routes
  8. Reviews and provides network maintenance enhancements


Minimum Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience planning, installing, maintaining, operating, and troubleshooting telecommunication networks, including enterprise data and wireless networks
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of industry cabling codes, standards, and methodologies
  • Experience working in an inside or outside plant enterprise environment





Preferred Qualifications
  • ICT training from an accredited program
  • Experience working on technical ICT projects
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of the NFPA 70 (NEC), IEEE NESC
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of BICSI standards and methodologies
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, Access, Teams, or Visio)
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD software
