Website Producer

Key Accountabilities

In collaboration with Communications Department peers, Information Technology Services, other departments, and external vendors, the website producer will strategically develop and promote high-quality digital communications on exeter.edu that successfully communicates the Academy’s core messages to current and prospective students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents and others. Specific roles include:

  • Providing leadership and strategic supervision within Communications Department in curating the website and contributing to editorial content development by ensuring that the mission, objectives, and goals of the Academy are reflected in its web presence in an effective manner.
  • Partnering with Academy technology staff to manage the Drupal content management system, implement upgrades and site redesigns, monitor analytics, ensure accessibility compliance, integrate and maintain external feeds/inputs, and pursue best practices in website management and maintenance.
  • Actively following trends in tech and digital publishing to ensure exeter.edu follows industry best practices in audience engagement, UX, SEO and regulatory requirements.
  • Developing, producing and managing content on all of the Academy digital channels, with a focus on exeter.edu. This includes text as well as images, video and animation.
  • Collaborating with internal and external graphic designers, web designers and developers, writers and others to create and maintain compelling, on-message and relevant web content.
  • Providing guidance, expertise and support to all web-based communications activities within the Academy’s institutional marketing and communications program, including social media platforms.
  • Providing strategic guidance to members of the Academy community, including assessing web communication needs of internal “clients” and suggesting appropriate on-brand measures to meet these needs.

Internal & External Contacts

Frequent contact with students, PEA administrative and academic offices, faculty, coaches, etc. External contacts might include vendors and freelancers.

Position Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.


Experience

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in web content management, UX design/management, and/or digital marketing.
  • Demonstrated experience in writing for digital spaces and managing the creation of multimedia content for websites or social media.
  • Experienced in managing a web presence that serves multiple audiences with a strategy that is on brand and audience-first.
  • Must possess a high degree of experience managing content in CMS platforms (Drupal preferred) and be able to learn new CMS platforms as needed.
  • Must understand the importance of coordinated, unified institutional messages disseminated through a variety of formats.
  • Experience working with adolescents in an educational setting preferred.


Skills & Knowledge

  • Comfort in working within CMS platforms and other applications to build and launch mobile-first web content.
  • Experience working with content editing tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud and display tools such as pop-up generators (OptinMonster, for example).
  • An understanding of how websites integrate into a larger communications strategy and how to effectively leverage digital content in audience engagement tactics.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills as well as a strong focus and understanding of marketing to different audiences.
  • Experience with website analytics (Google Analytics preferred) and website monitoring tools (SiteImprove preferred).
  • An understanding of WCAG accessibility standards.
  • Possess excellent cooperative and collaborative skills, a sense of humor, the desire to work as a trusted member of a group with constituents at all levels of the Academy.
  • A lively, engaging writing style, and ability to write on deadline, proofreading skills in the Associated Press style, and attention to detail are all required.
  • A strict adherence to confidential policies is required.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • High degree of organizational skills with the ability to be flexible and multi-task with accuracy.
