Position Summary:
Monmouth University is seeking applications for a Bursar.

The candidate would be expected to: lead and manage the University's student accounts receivable, including the assessment of tuition and fees, billing, and reconciliation with the general ledger. The Bursar will also be responsible to maintain and enhance the University's Ellucian Colleague student financial system and TouchNet to optimize the student experience, the processing of student financial transactions, and student and authorized user payments. The Bursar will also be responsible for collaborating with the Cashier, Financial Aid, Registrar and Residential Life offices to promote data driven, student financial service best practices and establish/update procedures to ensure the University's compliance with federal and state regulations and institutional policies.

Bachelor's degree

Required Skills or Software:
Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel 2016, Must be able to utilize a variety of computer software programs in order to successfully complete assigned tasks, Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills, Must be able to treat confidential and sensitive information appropriately

Required Years of Experience:

Other Requirements:
Eight years of experience in a Bursar’s office or Student Financial Services office with demonstrated increasing responsibility, with five years at a leadership level, including experience in managing personnel.

Knowledge of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), and Federal and State regulations regarding the disbursement and issuance of Financial Aid and refunds, unclaimed property, and federal cash management regulations.

Exceptional customer service with strong student-centered focus and commitment to student satisfaction and success. Strong organizational skills and ability to navigate competing priorities to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Ability to manage parent and student interactions and expectations, and de-escalate student financial issues.

Ability to work in a professional manner during stressful situations. Ability to analyze, interpret data and make independent decisions. Strong oral and written communication with the ability to communicated sensitive and/or complex information clearly. Ability to develop, mentor, and motivate team members to elevate the effectiveness of the office.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. Experience with Ellucian Colleague student financials module. Experience with TouchNet.
