The University of Wisconsin-Stout School of Art & Design seeks a part-time educator for two course sections of DES374 3D Modeling – Organics in Fall 2022. This course serves intermediate-level students in the Game Design and Development-Art BFA and the Animation and Digital Media BFA. 

These classes are fully enrolled and scheduled for T/TH 8am-11:05am and 11:20am-2:05pm; classes meet in person. Enrolled students have proficiency in modeling and animation using Maya from a pre-requisite course; DES374 will introduce them to new tools and expand their portfolios. Syllabus, typical projects, class resources and mentorship from area faculty will be provided to support the instructor. 

APPOINTMENT DATES:  8/22/2022 through 1/4/2023

Minimal Requirements:

Base Qualifications 

  • Proficiency in ZBrush, Substance Painter and Maya. Experience in high- to low-poly workflow. Previous experience in teaching, coaching or mentoring, ideally of junior artists. Bachelor’s degree and 2-3 years work experience in related industry.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Substance Designer, Unity, Unreal or other game engine. Experience with lighting and rendering techniques. Additional skills in rigging and animation pipeline. Previous experience in university-level teaching; experience with learning management tools. Advanced degree and/or 5+ years of work experience in related industry.
