Position Summary

Provides administrative and organizational leadership to all aspect of the medical student Foundational Curriculum. This includes working with the appropriate curriculum and course leadership in the Foundational courses (EPOM, HID1 and HID2) as well as the Areas of Concentration (AOC’s), and Phase 3 Courses (TS, ACE, Step).

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Provides centralized oversight for all administrative aspects of Foundational Curriculum and select phase 3 courses (AOC, TS, ACE); works closely with Curriculum Deans and relevant course faculty to ensure all elements of courses are delivered smoothly. Ensures adequate space and staff resources are dedicated to the effective delivery of curricular sessions. Monitors collection of student performance data; compiles/prepares data necessary for course leaders to submit grades within required deadlines; complies/provides student performance data to course leadership. Enters data in Oasis within LCME guidelines. Works closely with Compliance and Evaluation Manager to ensure curricular objectives are adequately assessed; works with the appropriate administrators, faculty, and staff to provide reports for the LCME as required. Ensures the appropriate data pieces are collected according to centralized templates/processes to support required reporting for curriculum mapping and for internal and external groups. Liaises with other departments to ensure adequate resources are available to support student learning; this includes ETG, Library Services, Event Services, CSC. Coordinates and schedules all CSC/SP non OSCE related activities (EPOM, HID1, HID2, ACE). Coordinates and supports internal meetings as necessary. Attends appropriate conferences and meetings; stays abreast of best practices in curriculum delivery; support curriculum leadership on relevant scholarship. Supervises relevant staff to assist in the delivery and support of the curriculum; provides training and feedback as necessary; conducts annual performance appraisals of staff. Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Education

  • Master's Degree

 

Experience

  • Master's Degree required, preferably in a related field; knowledge of current techniques and procedures used in the design and development of curriculum. Five years related work experience, including management of staff.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must be able to take initiative to creatively solve problems in a timely fashion, make decisions independently and implement changes quickly and effectively. Outstanding interpersonal and organizational skills are essential. Excellent computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, e-mail and Internet access) are required.
