Plans, develops, coordinates, manages, and executes the recruitment and admissions process in alignment with the institution's strategic goals. Represents the institution to prospective students with a goal of attracting, admitting, and enrolling a talented, diverse student body. May supervise staff and/or lead a program area.

Responsibilities

70% - Serve as a University representative for high school visits and fairs, college nights, and other recruitment and outreach programs. Extensive travel is expected from September through November, and occasionally at other times of the year, including night and some weekend travel throughout Wisconsin and occasionally border states.

20% - Meet with prospective students and other guests in the admissions office to provide a university overview as well as guide students through the admissions process. In addition, the counselor is expected to share in a Saturday rotation schedule from September through May.

10% - Assist with other projects and office responsibilities as necessary, based on skill set and office needs.

Qualifications Required:

Bachelor’s degree

Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion

Strong organization skills and attention to detail

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking

Capacity to work collaboratively among units and organizations

Possesses exemplary customer relations skills

Preferred:

Master’s degree

Professional experience working in admissions or other related student services area at the post-secondary level

Knowledge of UW Oshkosh
