Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of Business Development, the Business Development Representative is responsible for achievement of revenue goals and profit margins for contract training opportunities and community partnerships. The position is critical in engaging with employers through a sales approach that provides custom solutions to meet their needs.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Performance Requirements*
  • Monitors and proactively determines industry needs, and analyzes new business opportunities to determine their potential profitability and market demand
  • Gains insight into regional employers of Tarrant County, identifying key decision makers and stakeholders in the decision-making process, such as CEO’s, COO’s, Human Resource Managers, etc.
  • Creates custom sales solutions through a sales approach that provides solutions to meet employer needs where and when they want them by understanding market clusters and vertical integrations that will inform product and service offerings
  • Represents the value of TCC and position as a leader in the business community
  • Meets face to face with prospects and customers clearly identify needs that match the TCC value proposition by utilizing a consultative approach
  • Develops a core understanding of the customer’s technical needs and tailor strategies and solutions to meet those needs
  • Interfaces and collaborates with internal resources to facilitate solution development
  • Presents solutions and closes sales by utilizing strong communication and closing skills
  • Creates territory and account plans to grow new accounts into repeat customers
  • Develops account plans, strategic sales strategies and implements process to achieve revenue and profit margin goals of the CSED
  • Is accountable for sales pipelines, proposals, quotes, client satisfaction, and sustainable growth with key clients
  • Maintains and updates customer relationship management ( CRM ) tool daily
Service Excellence
  • Participates on behalf of the College in external community organizations and associations as assigned to support the essential performance requirements
  • Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
  • Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College ( TCC )
  • Supports the values of the College: diversity, teaching excellence, student success, innovation, and creativity and service to the College
  • Supports the mission, values and 3 goals and 8 principles of the College

Supervision
Works under the general supervision of the Director of Business Development

Required Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Two (2) years working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in business, sales, marketing, or related field
  • Experience selling in a business to business (B2B) model
  • Experience with sales forecasting and budget management
  • Experience using social networking (i.e. LinkedIn) for purposes of business development
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with diverse populations and a Skilled in strong customer-oriented philosophy and focus
  • Skilled in written and verbal communication and interpersonal interactions with a diverse range of individuals
  • Skilled with time management and organization
  • Skilled using applications and enterprise systems, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to set priorities, drive decisions, and get closure on recommendations and issues
  • Ability to negotiate effectively without compromising the value of a program
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment and a setting that is diverse and urban
  • Ability to think critically and strategically, exercising good judgment to effectively solve and communicate problems in a fast-paced environment where the demands for work are varied, and unpredictable in scope and volume
