Founded in 1847, Earlham College is a nationally-ranked liberal arts college that aspires to change lives for good. Our community is shaped by the perspectives and values of the Religious Society of Friends—commonly known as Quakers—but you don’t have to be Quaker to work or study here. Through our common understanding of these values and our shared governance structure, each member of the Earlham community is encouraged to participate fully, applying their personal expertise and experience to moving the College forward.

Earlham welcomes a broadly diverse student body, faculty and staff to its campus.

With a quarter of our students identifying as domestic minorities and another 20 percent coming to Earlham from homes outside the United States, our classrooms, clubs and activities benefit from the wide variety of perspectives and experiences our students bring.

Our 800-acre campus is nestled in the heart of Richmond, Indiana. Richmond and Earlham share a mutually beneficial connection, and our location allows for the best of both worlds—big city amenities aren’t far away, and outdoor activities abound.
