College of Engineering and Computing: Data and Planning Analyst supports the College of Engineering and Computing (CEC) leadership team in the strategic use of data for decision-making.  The Data and Planning Analyst will strategically identify and use data sources to build data products such as reports, dashboards and analyses to support strategic decision-making; support the collection, storage, querying, and manipulation of data for strategic analysis; analyze data sets and forecast enrollment demand, expense and revenue generation, and other reports as needed by the CEC leadership team; develop methods to ensure quality of data and reporting; collaborate with the CEC leadership team to identify and prioritize data projects to support strategic decision making.  Emphasis will be on reporting and analysis as it relates to budget, personnel, student success, scheduling, external reporting (accreditation, rankings, etc.), and internal reporting (operational health, enrollment management, etc.)

The Data and Planning Analyst will assess, interpret, and report on the division's budget and financial operations; advise the dean, chairs and leadership team about budget and financial matters; work closely with department chairs and program leaders to gather and assess all relevant information for decision-making, hiring plans and staffing plans; monitor the division's sources and uses of funding, and maintain spreadsheets on all accounts in the dean's office; represent the CEC on university-level budget committees and advocate for the division; supervise an administrative position on the Dean’s staff; other duties as assigned.

Required: Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years of professional related/relevant experience; high level of computer literacy, strong knowledge of Excel, Access, or similar. 

Position is not eligible for H-1B sponsorship.

Consideration may be given to candidates with higher education data systems, data sources, policies and reporting experience; experience locating data and building reports in the Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition; Fluent in a programming language used to query databases, such as SQL; conversant in Tableau; Experience with Banner tables; the ability to successfully interpret technical financial information for people from non-financial disciplines; ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality in all matters; ability to respond to short deadlines; experience managing projects; excellent oral and written communication skills.
