Summary

The Coordinator, Business Operations oversees and coordinates the day-to-day operations and reservation system for Education space, and processes requests for student and trainee research visitors to Baylor College of Medicine under the direction of the Vice President for Student and Trainee Services.

This position offers a hybrid work arrangement with 3-4 days per week onsite.

Job Duties
  • Develops and coordinates methods and procedures for allocation of Education space for schools and education programs.
  • Approves and manages space and calendar requests for all Education space.
  • Communicates reservation information and procedures to user community.
  • Inspects to ensure education space and shared department equipment is used properly and well maintained. Facilitate service calls and provide additional support to faculty members as needed.
  • Maintains database regarding Education space; works with IT for maintenance and improvement of the scheduling system.
  • Analyzes space allocation data and makes recommendations. First point of contact for space utilization conflicts.
  • Point of contact for construction / maintenance projects managed by Facilities when renovations are needed or when new space is allocated to Education. Reviews records and reports of activities to ensure that progress is being accomplished toward specified project objectives.
  • Assists with the review of requests for student and trainee visitors to Baylor College of Medicine for research training.
  • Composes formal and informal correspondence including, but not limited to, creating and formatting presentations.
  • Coordinates/manages the students' locker requests/accommodations to ensure that the available lockers are ready to use and in good condition.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Two years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's degree.
