JOB DESCRIPTION

The University of Indianapolis is accepting applications for an Associate Director of Annual Giving. This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position.

The Associate Director of Annual Giving will work closely with the Senior Director of Annual Giving to plan and implement annual giving strategies and other communications produced by the Office of Advancement. Strategies will engage, cultivate, solicit, and steward UIndy alumni, friends and other targeted constituents to meet the financial and participation goals of the Office of Advancement.

The Associate Director will be a key team member in helping to develop and execute successful multi-channel communication strategies to acquire new donors and increase giving levels of current donors. Primary responsibilities include managing the Student Advancement Ambassadors; assisting the Senior Director with creating direct mail solicitations, email solicitations, crowdfunding campaigns, and giving days; developing and leading a student giving program; and assisting in the development of the recurring gift program.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Partner with Senior Director of Annual Giving to write, test, and implement segmented multi-channel communications utilizing direct mail, email, phone, text, and online strategies
  • Ensure annual giving messages are consistent with the Universitys financial needs, funding goals, and brand
  • Work with the Senior Director of Annual Giving in the planning and execution of crowdfunding campaigns and giving days including UIndy Day and Giving Tuesday
  • Manage student video creation, emails and texting from the video platform, Thankview, for annual giving solicitations and stewardship efforts
  • Develop a student giving program aimed to educate the student body about the importance of philanthropy at UIndy (includes recruitment, coaching, and training of a student committee, designing solicitations and other communications, and leading the senior gift drive)
  • Work with the Advancement team to build the recurring gift program to increase donor retention
  • Collaborate with University Marketing and Communication staff to develop a social media plan for annual giving
  • Collaborate with the Senior Director of Annual Giving and Advancement team to pull donor giving data and lists for analysis, solicitation, and stewardship purposes
  • Assist with the promotion of other advancement initiatives such as the license plate program, faculty and staff giving campaigns, and employer matching gift program
  • Analyze and evaluate the outcome of programs and adjust the plan accordingly to increase donor acquisition, renewal, and retention
  • Collaborate with Alumni Engagement, Advancement, and Athletic staff to maintain an integrated communication calendar
  • Participate in key Advancement events such as Homecoming, UIndy Day, Donor Scholar Luncheon
  • Work cooperatively and collaboratively with other employees in the spirit of teamwork and collegiality to advance University fundraising goals and comply with University policies and guidelines
  • Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelors degree required. (English, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or related field preferred)
  • Fundraising and work experience within a non-profit organization preferred
  • Strong project management and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with colleagues in a team environment
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as required for special events
  • Strong written communication and organizational skills
