Job Description Summary:

The Orientation Coordinator ensures orientation events are scheduled online and in person at multiple locations, pre-advising is completed, and communications are sent in a timely manner and updated as needed.

Job Description:

Description of Duties and Tasks
  • Works with orientation leadership to establish department standards, goals, and strategies to meet ACC’s objectives related to providing orientation to incoming associate’s degree and for-credit certificate students.

  • Represents the orientation team and acts as liaison to institutional partners to support new student enrollment including, sharing information and updates regarding orientation via presentations, training, and sharing data as needed.

  • In partnership with the Orientation Advising supervisor, develops and implements a regular schedule for group advising sessions

  • Mentors new staff and provides ongoing guidance. Coordinates with the Director and Supervisor on training manuals and related documents.

  • Assists with team leadership to effectively extract, merge, and use data from Salesforce, Ellucian Colleague, CVENT, and related databases.

  • Identifies underserved areas and develops re-engagement, registration, and retention plans.

  • Performs research to gather data on applicant experiences as it relates to orientation. Compiles data for reports.

  • Assists with updating department resources manuals, materials, policies, and procedures.

  • Creates and submits work orders, mojo tickets, and related forms.

  • May support Orientation Advising Specialists by pre-advising students, conducting application reviews, and facilitating group advising sessions, especially during peak times (January, May, August)

  • Assists with other initiatives, projects, and special projects as assigned.



Knowledge
  • College programs, services, and strategic directions

  • Data collection, verification, analysis, and compilation methods

  • Customer service principles and practices

  • Salesforce or similar contact management systems

  • Best practices for higher education and enrollment

  • College readiness documentation, college admissions procedures, advising procedures, programs, courses

Skills
  • Maintaining an established work schedule, including some evenings and weekends

  • Effectively use interpersonal and writing communication skills

  • Effectively use organizational planning, problem solving skills, attention to detail, and follow-through skills

  • Working collaboratively with a diverse group of stakeholders

  • Maintaining confidentiality of work information and materials

  • Effectively working with a diverse and multicultural community and student body

  • Calmly resolving unplanned issues in a timely fashion

Technology Skills
  • Use a variety of spreadsheet, word processing, database, and presentation software

Required Work Experience
  • Two years of related work experience

Preferred Work Experience
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM), preferably Salesforce

  • Experience analyzing student data

Required Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree

Special Requirements
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License and reliable transportation for local Austin area travel

Physical Requirements
  • Work is performed in a standard office or similar environment

  • Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling

  • Occasional lifting of objects up to 10 points

Salary Range

$41,304 - $59,006

Position Information

Location: Varies throughout the ACC District, hybrid work opportunity

Hours: Mondays through Fridays, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; periodic evenings and weekends required, especially at peak times (January, May, August)

Full-time faculty and staffing table employees who work in full-time and/or part-time positions at the college are eligible for ACC medical benefits effective the first of the month after their first 60 days of employment. Benefits include medical, dental, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, retirement plans and AD&D.

ACC does not participate in Social Security. ACC participates in the Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) and the Optional Retirement Program (ORP-Faculty and Administrators Only). Part-time and Hourly employees participate in the ACC Money Purchase Plan (ACCMPP) as a retirement program required by federal law.
