Location

Our West Campus is located at 2400 Gillionville Road, Albany, GA 31707. Our East Campus is located at 504 College Drive, Albany, GA 31705. The Human Resources office for both campuses is located on the West Campus in Building K, Suite 111.

Job Summary

The Community Engagement Coordinator will provide the administrative and clerical knowledge and skills necessary to support activities of the Center of Excellence for Community Engagement, especially supporting efforts in building, nurturing, and sustaining campus-wide and community-based engagement opportunities and partnerships. Work in the CECE requires the exercise of independent judgment, highly developed technical and interpersonal skills, and the ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. The Community Engagement Coordinator is responsible for interacting with faculty, staff, students, and the public in a professional manner in-person, on the phone, and via email on a daily basis.

Responsibilities
  • Work as administrative support for the Center of Excellence for Community Engagement.
  • Be responsible for the day-to-day operations.
  • Respond to emails, phone calls, and walk-in visits concerning CECE activities.
  • Supervise work-study students to further carry out the goals of the CECE.
  • Arrange and coordinate Community Involvement Activities, and keep accurate records of all CECE meetings.
  • Work with community and campus partners to develop an engaged campus.
  • Act as campus liaison for Campus Compact.
  • Work with CECE director to develop strategies on engaging faculty, staff and students.
  • Research the qualifications for the Carnegie designation for Community Engagement.
  • Act as the on-campus trainer for the implementation and ongoing training of OrgSync or similar engagement data management system.
  • Serve as the OrgSync or database administrator for monitoring content and ensuring that campus portals are being used properly.
  • Serve as the liaison for community partners to promote opportunities on OrgSync or other engagement management system.
  • Pull reports relating to the engagement of faculty, staff, and students in community-based activities.
  • Be responsible for the daily operation of OrgSync or other engagement management system, and serve as the on-site contact for questions.
  • Assist director in implementing a roll out plan for OrgSync or other engagement management system.
  • Selected candidate must be able to work independently or with a group.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications

A bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years working with community or not-for-profit organizations required.

Applicant should have experience supervising volunteers working in high pressure, fast paced environment.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with database management is essential.

Applicant must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be comfortable presenting to, and training, people, and have knowledge of various social media platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of OrgSync and/or ability to maintain database and run ad hoc reports is preferred.

Proposed Salary

$36,000
