Location

Our West Campus is located at 2400 Gillionville Road, Albany, GA 31707. Our East Campus is located at 504 College Drive, Albany, GA 31705. The Human Resources office for both campuses is located on the West Campus in Building K, Suite 111.

Job Summary

The Grants Accountant I is responsible for budgetary and post award grant accounting in the preparation, maintenance and review of sponsored and restricted awards. The responsibilities involve maintaining accounts of all federal, state, local, and private grants and contracts awarded to the institution. This position is responsible for the preparation of annual and/or operating budgets, budget revisions, and support schedules and documents to include the analysis, interpretation, and development of budgetary data for Sponsored Programs. This position reports directly to the Budget Director.

Required Qualifications

AA degree with an emphasis in accounting, finance, or other related area.and three to five years of successful experience in Accounting, Business or Finance.

A Combination of training and experience will be accepted

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree

Knowledge of governmental accounting principles and procedures

Ability to keep abreast and interpret federal, state and local guidelines, as related to grants and contracts administration

Prior experience in Higher Education.

Demonstrated knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles and practices.

Knowledge of higher education financial systems and issues; People Soft Financial and OneUSG.

Proposed Salary

Salary range is from $40,000 to $46,000

Knowledge

Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends; strong attention to detail

Expertise with Microsoft Excel and other financial modeling software

Exceptional interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate well with all levels of management and staff and interact effectively with a variety of departments

Highest ethical standards and a commitment to proper stewardship of institutional resources
