Our West Campus is located at 2400 Gillionville Road, Albany, GA 31707. Our East Campus is located at 504 College Drive, Albany, GA 31705. The Human Resources office for both campuses is located on the West Campus in Building K, Suite 111.

Job Summary

Educational Talent Search (ETS) is a federally funded program designed to assist economically and disadvantaged youth who wish to continue their education beyond the secondary level. The program provides services to eligible 6-12th graders (500 in total) in targeted middle and high schools within the Dougherty County School System.

The Academic Success Coach will provide academic, career and educational counseling, as well as technical assistance with the entire admission and financial aid application process.

Responsibilities
  • Recruit and select eligible participants the Educational Talent Search Program.
  • Identify and provide age appropriate personal, academic, financial, and career guidance services for participants.
  • Provide information and resources to the Guidance Counselors at the targeted schools.
  • Coordinate assessment of students' interests, needs, and goals and develop meaningful curriculum and services to meet the needs of program participants.
  • Provide connections to education or counseling services designed to improve the financial literacy and economic literacy of students or the students’ parents, including financial planning for postsecondary education.
  • Provide tutorial services to students within the ETS program.
  • Assist students and parents in completing test registrations, college admissions applications, and the FASFA (Federal Application for Student Financial Aid) forms.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate records of student academic progress.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all program activities and services for participants.
  • Coordinate and implement the schedules for high school visits for the academic year in cooperation with the school administrators, guidance counselors, and faculty/staff.
  • Work collaboratively with Dougherty County Schools System principals, counselors, teachers; other school district personnel, ASU faculty and staff, community leaders, and other partners to provide academic enrichment, tutorial services, career exploration, aptitude assessments, counseling, mentoring programs, workshops, information on postsecondary institutions; education or counseling services designed to improve the financial and economic literacy of students.
  • Work closely with Talent Search parents and/or guardians to inform them of high school graduation requirements, academic enrichment opportunities and college expectations.
  • Plan, develop and implement ETS participants exposure to institutions of higher education via campus tours, as well as cultural events, academic programs and activities not usually available to disadvantaged youth; such programs may occur during the summer, weekends, and evenings requiring travel.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Counseling or Education or a closely related field.

At least two years of experience in higher education preparatory programming, admissions, enrollment management, financial aid or two years of K-12 education experience.
