MALES Director



About Us

Albany State University is a fully accredited senior unit of the University System of Georgia. Location

Our West Campus is located at 2400 Gillionville Road, Albany, GA 31707. Our East Campus is located at 504 College Drive, Albany, GA 31705. The Human Resources office for both campuses is located on the West Campus in Building K, Suite 111.

Job Summary

The MALES Director works with diverse populations in a college/university setting that promote the development of male students. The interim director possesses strong written and oral communication skills and an ability to lead large and small groups; knowledge of current issues in education regarding male student populations and possesses strong organizational and planning skills. The interim director as the ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities
  • Provides interim day-to day leadership supervision of MALES unit staff and Student Leaders.
  • Implements and develops enrollment and recruitment programming for the MALES Unit on an interim basis.
  • Organize annual outreach within our university community.
  • Plan the scope of work for the department
  • Oversees the development and planning of MALES activities.
  • Facilitates monthly meetings,
  • Supervises the coordination of community involvement and serves as the spokesperson for MALES;
  • Is responsible for the collection and reporting retention data on African American Males at ASU and in the local communities served by MALES;
  • Develop programs and activities that support retention among ASU males;
  • Oversee collaborations with various programs and departments within university community that engage student learners;
  • Present during annual budget hearings; operate program within budgetary requirements awarded by the State, Office of title III, Student Affairs, and Agency funding(s);
  • Ensure program complies with university policies and procedures as governed by the University System of Georgia Board of Regents;
Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree required;

Must have a minimum three years of related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree preferred.

Proposed Salary

Salary range is from $34,000 to $44,000
