Location
Our West Campus is located at 2400 Gillionville Road, Albany, GA 31707. Our East Campus is located at 504 College Drive, Albany, GA 31705. The Human Resources office for both campuses is located on the West Campus in Building K, Suite 111.
Job Summary
The person in the position works with teacher education candidates to ensure all field and clinical experiences are aligned with the accreditation requirements as outline by the Professional standards Commission (PSC).
Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities for this position include:
- Work collaboratively with school districts and other agencies to develop sites for candidates requiring placements as part of their academic programs.
- Monitor the quality of existing sites and conduct regular visits to the sites.
- Train students, cooperating teachers and other partners who supervise College of Education candidates in their placement on the use of evaluative assessment instruments.
- Work collaboratively with Instructional Technology Services to ensure that the assessment instruments are launched electronically and that cooperating partners learn to utilize the internet based assessment tools.
- Develop and monitor field experience and practicums for initial programs.
- Design initial cohort-based practicum programs.
- Teach initial and advanced cohort-based practicum courses.
- GACE test preparation planning and implementation in practicum courses.
- Advise undergraduate students seeking initial certification in the state of Georgia.
- Program maintenance and accreditation including NCATE (CAEP), SACS, and GaPSC reporting.
- Perform other job-related duties as required.
A Master's degree in teacher education or related education field; a minimum of three years of professional experience in the field of education at K – 12 level.
Experience in P-12 schools, preferably in the state of Georgia; familiarity with computers, the use of web-based software packages like Microsoft Office, LiveText, and Desire to Learn (Learning Management System).
Preferred Qualifications
Doctoral degree in education; experience teaching in higher education and supervising students in field and clinical placements.
Has served as an instructional coach in a K – 12 school

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Knowledge
The F & C Director should have knowledge of the accreditations that exist within the unit. The F & C Director should have a strong working relationship with the local and regional school systems.
Skills
The F & C Director should have excellent communication skills, both oral and written. The faculty member should have knowledge of Professional Standards Commission Rules for Candidate Preparation in field and clinical requirements.
Abilities
The F & C Director should have knowledge of Microsoft Office, Banner.
