Location
Our West Campus is located at 2400 Gillionville Road, Albany, GA 31707. Our East Campus is located at 504 College Drive, Albany, GA 31705. The Human Resources office for both campuses is located on the West Campus in Building K, Suite 111.
Job Summary
This part-time position provides teaching assistance support for faculty and course-specific academic support for students. This position serves to supply liaison support for supplemental teaching and instruction opportunities of assigned curriculum while assisting students in improving academic achievement, aiding in the development of activities and assessments, lecturing course material, assigning course activities, leading course discussion, and evaluating student work, while assisting faculty in maintaining student progress records. Additional tasks include providing liaison services to academic support services, integrating effective learning and study strategies, and applying principles and practices of academic support strategies.
Responsibilities
- Supplies faculty with teaching assistance support
- Provides student course-specific academic support
- Serves as a liaison to supplemental teaching, instruction, and academic support
- Conducts face-to-face, online, and one-on-one and group meetings
- Aids in the development of curriculum (course activities and assessments) and the assignment of course work
- Aids in the evaluation and maintenance of student work and progress
- Assists students with specific course-related concepts and problems
- Facilitates development of effective, related note taking and study skills
- Consults with faculty for course resources, guidance, and direction
- Provides course-related support resources such as handouts, worksheets, or additional learning activities
- Conducts announcements to promote Academic Support Services
- Participates in trainings and regularly scheduled meetings with faculty and supervisor
- Performs related duties as assigned
- Works no more than 19 hours per week
Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field.
Experience working in a public-facing position or a student teaching/training program is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a masters degree in a course of study related to the occupational field.
Experience working in teaching is preferred.
Proposed Salary
They pay cycle is a one-time payment of $2,400 per semester, at the close of the semester.

Knowledge:
- Knowledge of related subject-matter content, principles, and teaching assistance strategies
- Knowledge of research formats, classroom practices, teaching methodologies, assessment systems, and educational technology
- Skill in the operation of computers and job-related software programs
- Skill in timely decision making and problem solving
- Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public
- Skill in oral and written communication
- The work is typically performed while intermittently sitting, standing, or stooping.
- The work is typically performed in an office, lab, classroom, or online environment.
- The employee occasionally lifts objects, up to 25 pounds.
- Occasional travel is required to perform duties at either the East or West Campus locations.
