Job Description

Plan and supervise work of assigned personnel of the Key shop.

Oversee the repair, maintenance, and installation of door hardware.

Administer and maintain the master keying systems and related security for the University.

Maintains records for core codes and key codes for all University Buildings utilizing computer data and hand written records.

Inspects sites to determine material, labor needs, and costs.

Interpret hardware schedules, plans, blueprints, specifications, for new construction, and/or remodeling projects.

Confers with clients to determine coring plan on new construction and/or remodel projects.

Meets with contractors regarding the inspection of work during the process of installing cores.

Orders materials and maintains inventory.

Develops and conducts preventative maintenance programs as pertaining to door hardware.

Interprets, explains, and carries out existing methods and procedures pertaining to lock repair and maintenance.

Works cooperatively with employees, contractors, and the public.

Conforms to Safety standards and University policies.

Selects, trains, coaches, and evaluates Key Shop employees.

Edits and approves time for employees.

Investigates accidents and injuries, prepares written reports.

Salary

Salary Range: $47,476 - $84,505

GGS Grade: 10

University Title: MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR

Shift

7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Valid license to operate a motor vehicle in the state of Missouri.

Certification as a locksmith.

Five years of experience as a Journeyman commercial/institutional locksmith.
