Job Summary:

The Department of Surgical Sciences at the University of Wisconsin, School of Veterinary Medicine is soliciting applications for 1 full-time Clinical Instructor in Small Animal Orthopedic Surgery. The successful candidate will join the Small Animal Surgery Section, which is comprised 6 full-time ACVS Diplomates, 6 residents/interns, and a dynamic group of certified veterinary technicians. The UW Veterinary Care teaching hospital is equipped with state of the art equipment including arthroscopy, MRI, CT and ultrasound.

Responsibilities will include providing clinical Orthopedic service in the UW Veterinary Care veterinary teaching hospital and participation in clinical and didactic teaching of veterinary students, residents, and interns.

Education:

Required
Terminal Degree
DVM or equivalent

Qualifications:

American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS) or European College of Veterinary Surgeons (ECVS) Board Certification with advanced training in orthopedic surgery is preferred. Board Eligibile individuals will also be considered.

This position has a strong emphasis on patient management, but also teaching and clinical research. Experience working with, teaching, and/or mentoring diverse groups of interns, residents and students is also preferred.

License/Certification:

Required
Wisconsin Veterinary License
Must be licensed to practice Veterinary Medicine in the State of Wisconsin.
